It's my Birthday.

Hai. Today is my 21st birthday. Suppose to be meaningful because it's 21st bday. It marks the start of adulthood. Many people will have big birthday parties and tonnes of friends celebrating with them. For me, well it is just another working day without any special celebration. I started my day @ 0630hrs, going to camp. While in camp, i am no longer a DyS1 as my boss said that i can cross over fully to S3 branch. It seemed to me that i have no place in S1 branch anymore. In S3 branch? No quite as i dun really blend in well there. So i became a floating officer. Being the only GFAC trained officer, i am quite in high demand. i can see that my CO have high expectation of me as i was the top trainee in the course and this is my 2nd ATEC. So the irony is, being a person in demand i have no place to go. i hang around the battalion studying for tmr's test. I have no men to command. i carried the GS TABLE AND BENCH all by myself, Setting up my test station and printing all the labels all alone. every single thing i have to do it myself, from drawing of map, to preparing the stations all alone. So my 21st bday i spent on doing SAI kang (shit jobs). no one in the battalion remembers my bday, not even my boss. Oh well. fark it. hai~ morale super ultra low. but i must thank god for giving me friends that remember my bday. although it is just a simple sms but it brightened up the gloomy day a little. my 21st bday going to end without any party, without any bday gifts and without a good dinner (i tot my mom will @ least prepare some nice dinner but it was just some leftovers from yesterday) Oh well.... not a very good start into adulthood. for those who are turning 21, i prayed hard that your day will be a fulfiling 1, dun be like mine. it's really miserable....

This is also for that time she didnt have a date, so after numerous vows that there was nothing serious between the two of you, she dragged you to a party where you knew nobody, the beer was awful, and she flirted shamelessly with you, justifying each fit of reckless teasing by announcing to everyone: oh, but were just friends! And even though you were invited purely as a symbolic warm body for her ego, you went anyways. Because youre nice like that. The nice guys dont often get credit where credit is due. And perhaps more disturbing, the nice guys dont seem to get laid as often as they should. And I wish I could logically explain this trend, but I cant. From what I have observed on campus and what I have learned from talking to friends at other schools and in the workplace, the only conclusion I can form is that many girls are just illogical, manipulative bitches. Many of them claim they just want to date a nice guy, but when presented with such a specimen, they say irrational, confusing things such as oh, hes too nice to date or he would be a good boyfriend but hes not for me or he already puts up with so much from me, I couldnt possibly ask him out! or the most frustrating of all: no, it would ruin our friendship. Yet, they continue to lament the lack of datable men in the world, and they expect their too-nice-to-date male friends to sympathize and apologize for the men that are jerks. Sorry, guys, girls like that are beyond my ability to fathom. I cant figure out why the connection breaks down between what they say (I want a nice guy!) and what they do (Im going to sleep with this complete ass now!). But one thing I can do, is say that the nice-guy-finishes-last phenomenon doesnt last forever. There are definitely many girls who grow out of that train of thought and realize they should be dating the nice guys, not taking them for granted. The tricky part is finding those girls, and even trickier, finding the ones that are single. So, until those girls are found, I propose a toast to all the nice guys. You know who you are, and I know youre sick of hearing yourself described as ubiquitously nice. But the truth of the matter is, the world needs your patience in the department store, your holding open of doors, your party escorting services, your propensity to be a sucker for a pretty smile. For all the crazy, insane, absurd things you tolerate, for all the situations where you are the faceless, nameless hero, my accolades, my acknowledgement, and my gratitude go out to you. You do have credibility in this society, and your well deserved vindication is coming.

Sometimes when you set your mind to do something, you'll see things or hear things that will shake your determination. How weird can it be? In my last entry i was saying i will give her up but as i took a walk in town what i saw along the way were things that shake my grounds. "Success is never Ending and Failure is never Final". Guys, how any suggestion?

I prayed to GOD before i sleep last night. i gave thanks to lord for giving a chance to get into OCS, passing my SOC and my JCC and finally commissioned safely on the parade square. I gave thanks to lord for the friends i made along the way, for the best wing commander i met and the people who helped me along the way, pulling me and encouraging me. Thanks for never giving up on me. I gave thanks to such a nice family i have. I prayed also for all my family members, friends,mentor,instructors and superiors i have. I prayed specially for a few other people who are important in my life (no need to say, my family comes first). I prayed that my mentor will find a partner soon (i still think you shouldn't the 18 year old vietnam girl). I prayed for my good friend, HuiYing, thanks for being my listening ear all the time. i prayed for n******, thanks for all the things you done for me... i just realised that you have done a lot for me. haha.

Guys... you know to really like someone is really hard... really really hard. In front of my men i can command, i can shout and i blow at them if they make mistakes even if they are older. But in front of her i am so helpless like a child. Sometimes i wondered if she's ever touched by the things i done for her, the answer that most of the time i get is NO! Well that's life isn't it? I was telling my boss that day not to listen to one song for so long, in the end you'll miss other great songs. He shoots back at me, "How about you? it is the same for girls isn't it? if you wait for her too long, you'll miss other good girls as well isn't it?" I can not say anything because he is right. Well things are not as simple as that, how can you compare a song to a person although the logic is the same? She is special to me. Many people say that i go for her because of her looks, is that really the case? No doubt she is very sweet looking but i am sure i don't just go for looks. If i am that superficial, i won't have waited so long for her. Hai~ OK i admit it.... i am like a block, not very interesting, in fact boring. Maybe that's why i am not popular among the girls. People usually come to me because they need my help, this goes for that very special girl as well. I am glad that i can be of some help to her but at the same time i questioned " am i just a tool or what?" My 老婆 tells me that not to think to much and don't give up just yet. Well... i really dunnoe. I wanted to give up 了。 I am tired. Besides i am going for Ground Forward Air Controller (GFAC) soon. i may become DyS3 though i wished i dun kenna it. I enjoyed being DyS1. My name is also submitted for NDP parade. Hai~~ arrows are flying at me but i dun really mind because it is a learning experience, a journey that toughen me for the future. Guys if you know about N****** just keep to yourself ok? i can write all these here because i bet she doesn't come here, almost certain. I WILL LET MY HANDS GO THOUGH IT IS HARD AND PAINFUL....Ouch~!

THE JOURNEY OF LEARNING TO BE A MAN, A SOLDIER AND A GENTLMAN

When I first entered bmt, life was uncertain. I didn’t know what is ahead, where I’ll be posted to after my recruit life. But 1 thing was certain; being a soldier is a serious business. When my platoon sergeant Farish taught us how to tie our dog tag, he also explained to us why there are 2 dog tags instead of 1. The reason is simple, when one dies in the battle field, one will be cut and bring back home for your family and the other will stay with the body as identification purposes. Back then I was thinking that when one day the button is pressed, I maybe there out there giving my life for my nation, my loved ones therefore being a soldier is not easy.

As I go through all the training, the idea being a soldier became clearer to me. A soldier is one who can go through anything with our buddies in other words we can go through shit together. Actually come to think of it, it was really fun back in bmt when we had our field camps. It was just like 18 year old big kids learning really how to fight, getting really dirty out there and enduring the wet weather (although my 7 days field camp it only rained the very first day). Although I was weak but I just go through the training with my best effort.

I didn’t do really well in bmt, in fact my results were poor. I don’t even think I’m in the top 30% in my platoon. So during posting I was even lazy to open my posting to see where I’m posted to, I thought I will definitely be in SISPEC training to be a specialist. It was until some sms text congratulating me upon going to OCS then I realized I’m posted to OCS. It strike a new type of fear, will I make it? I heard that people in OCS are super fit and smart, was I good enough? I worried a lot, so much so that I couldn’t sleep at night before 5th of April 2004.

The very first day in OCS we walked through the tunnel of OCS, on the sides of the tunnel were quotations on the SAF 7 core values. Those words strike me a lot, because the very first day in army I tried to abide by it though I wasn’t clear about the true meaning of these words until I came over to OCS. Then we had learning organization sessions for the first few days and during the session wing commander was giving away water bottles. One of the games we played was the thumb wrestling. Who ever wins more then 5 times in 1 minute gets the water bottle. We had fun wrestling but none of us won more then 5 times. Only 1 pair won more than 5 times and both got the water bottle. The trick is cooperate with which other, let both side win then we will have a win-win situation. For a moment I thought I had learnt everything in life. It was very enriching and meaningful session to me. We also went running around the school seeing every landmark. Oh yar, one of the most meaningful evening to me in TST was the tower run. Like I said, I was not as physically fit therefore the tower run was very very tough for me. Of course, I was one of the last few who managed to reach the top. Every step we took up the tower actually represent 1 day in OCS, the suffering we had means the tough training in OCS and the extremely nice view on the top of the tower means the sweet fruit at the end of the course. Now that I’m going to commission, I really hope to do the tower run again. Come to think of it, the tower run tells us that, no matter how weak one can be, as long as he has the mental toughness to continue, he will eventually reach the top. In OCS it is the same, the training maybe tough but don’t give up because we can go through it will the support from friends and personal determination to complete in. I am the same. I finally see myself commissioning.

Through out the course I suffered a lot. Because I was not as good I had a lot to do to catch up. Sometimes i got humiliated by instructors. The feeling was terrible, I felt like I’m the most useless person in the world. But I learnt to pick myself up from failure and continue to strive for better results. By then I really can understand what it is really meant to be a soldier. A soldier is one who can take humiliation or any shit thrown to him. What is humiliation? It is just words. What is all this mud? It just makes you dirty. All these can’t kill you. A soldier faces bullets in the battlefield not just all these humiliation, it is the bullet that kills not the words from the instructor that made you feel useless. So I got to realize that no point feeling down. Stand tall and work harder.

1 thing I learnt from Daniel Seng, it is about completing what you have started. This principle has pushed me through a lot of exercises especially during Brunei. This OCS journey is indeed a bitter sweet one for me. Fighting along the same side with my platoon, looking after each other and shedding tears.

Tribute to Wing Commander SIR:

Sir, the recent incident was a mistake made by our friend and I believe you take part of mistake as your own. Sir rest assured that you are still capable in producing outstanding officers because I myself learnt a lot from the course. Even though I hate to write journal, I had my biggest takeaway not written in the book but in my heart. Sir I hoped I’m the 2% you are proud of. Thank You Sir!

This is my Guild in RO... they are the best man... although this is not the full team but most members are here. Know which character am i? If you are slightly more intelligent then you'll know, anyway i just give you the hind. I'm the guardian of Nature. We had Guild war every wednesday and saturday. Yesterday war was exciting, 5 mins intot the game, our castle is taken by the enemy and we tried our best to capture it back but it was too difficult as the enemy have more people and better teamwork than us. We change target and wack a castle in prontera and we got it. But last 10 min we lost the castle. we had only 5mins to capture it back. It was a lot of tension. Nevertheless the never give up spirit of our guild members fought hard and capture it back. This screenshot was actually taken because our guild leader wanted to disband the guild. After much discussion and voting, the guild is staying. My role in the guild is mainly defending. i set traps to prevent enemies from coming in. Those interest in RO pls join because it is going to be more fun soon after the patch update. Just imagine your pet can join in the fight... TOTAL CHAOS cheers

LAst weekend has been an enjoyable weekend for me. I met up with my juniors back in bukit panjang government high and really had lots of fun. I'll upload the photos when i have the time. Anyway i'm flying to brunei tonite, just receive a msg from Wan Ling.... hey thanks for the encouragement. On the other hand i also received a sms yesterday that really spoilt my day. It was from stella actually. She told me not to ask her out for any functions such as Commissionary ball or Social night because she is not interested. Well i don't think there's anymore that i can ask her out le. I also visited Sitex yesterday with my good friend (neighbour), jian feng. At the expo, we see lots of very pretty ladies doing all the promotions especially Creative. Competiton is tough haha... we also met up with emily who is working there too. She is childhood friend of jian feng and Alice lim but somehow i got to know them seperately and realised that they are actually childhood friends...haha. And then there's nicolyn, we were exchanging sms halfway when i stopped reply her... Sorry nicolyn. I was sleeping by the time you sent your 3rd msg to me haha. Thanks for being my commissionary ball partner, you have been a wonderful friend. I guess you are probably the only girl that willing to make the time for me. Hi... Long time since i'm back here writing. Some of you may have seen me using some other blog skin, in the end i decided the default template is still the best therefore you can see me changing back to this template again. Well my leg still hurts, having some problems with walking. Oh yes... i'm going brunei next week. A little excited, a little worried... after all brunei is the highlight of the course. It will be tough and i wanted the JCC badge very much. It is a form of reward after going through all the sh*t. I'm not sure whether i can make it or not but i'll try my very best to get it. Just in case i didn't get it... please understand that i had tired my best... so people just give me your support haha. Less than 2 months to go before i commission, i'll take care of myself so as not to get injure and OOC. Wei De and Benedict... i miss you guys very much... Life in OCS without both of you is a little sian. Well see you guys back in ocs when i come back from brunei. As for benedict, although we can't commission together in the parade square and share the joy together, the memories of section field camp and all the other camps is engraved deep in my heart... For those who had helped me improve myself in OCS. i really thank you, because of you i am a stronger person.

What a Great Day for Foxtrot Wing. We have achieved 100% A.I standard excluding all those missing in action. We broke the OCS "old" record held by Delta (miserable 2 days). Delta Wing cadets (not all but a few of them) were very cocky when they achieved nearly 60% A.I on Thursday. Yesterday the cadets kept asking us how many A.I did we achieved despite knowing that our test is conducted today. Sorry Delta, Foxtrot did it again. I'm injury during the test, got a muscle torn on my right thigh. I'm going to miss FIBUA... super sian~~~ FIBUA is really fun. The last time we did FIBUA using paint ball... ultra exciting. Hai~~~ but my leg can't make it... hai~~~ i must recover on time for Brunei. I really wanted the JCC badge a lot... i must get it. I must continue to push on so that the day when i become an officer, i can stand proud and tall.

Oh yar... recently Wing Commander kept saying about Integrity. I agree with him. To get something by cheating, one cannot stand tall and one fine day some other people is going to find out. FOXTROT guys, remember what wing com say, JCC badge maybe important but what's important lies in the heart and values. People with good values will eventually become successful in life because they are sincere and people are able to place 100% trust in them. REMEMBER DON'T CHEAT GUYS OR WE'LL BE BACK TO TST AND ALSO DESTROY ALL THE REPUTATION THAT WE TRIED SO HARD TO BUILT. WE CAN'T LOST TO DELTA AFTER ALL.

Moral of the Story

Many years ago in a small Indian village, a farmer
had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money
to a village moneylender.
The moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied
the farmer's beautiful daughter. So he proposed a
bargain. He said he would forgo the farmer's debt
if he could marry his daughter. Both the farmer and
his daughter were horrified by the proposal. So
the cunning money-lender suggested that they let
providence decide the matter.

He told them that he would put a black pebble and
a white pebble into an empty money bag. Then the
girl would have to pick one pebble from the bag.

1) If she picked the black pebble, she would
become his wife and her father's debt would be
forgiven.

2) If she picked the white pebble she need not
marry him and her father's debt would still be
given.

3) But if she refused to pick a pebble, her father
would be thrown into jail.

They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the
farmer's field. As they talked, the moneylender
bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked
them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had
picked up two black pebbles and put them into the
bag. He then asked the girl to pick a pebble from
the bag.

Now, imagine that you were standing in the field.
What would you have done if you were the girl? If
you had to advise her, what would you have told
her?
Careful analysis would produce three possibilities:

1. The girl should refuse to take a pebble.
2. The girl should show that there were two black
pebbles in the bag and expose the money-lender
as a cheat.
3. The girl should pick a black pebble and
sacrifice herself in order to save her father from
his debt and imprisonment.
Take a moment to ponder over the story. The
above story is used with the hope that it will make
us appreciate the difference between lateral and
logical thinking.
The girl's dilemma cannot be solved with
traditional logical thinking. Think of the
consequences if she chooses the above logical
answers.

What would you recommend the Girl to do?

Well, here is what she did ....

The girl put her hand into the moneybag and drew
out a pebble. Without looking at it, she fumbled
and let it fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it
immediately became lost among all the other
pebbles.
"Oh, how clumsy of me," she said. "But never
mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is
left,
you will be able to tell which pebble I picked."
Since the remaining pebble is black, it must be
assumed that she had picked the white one. And
since the money-lender dared not admit his
dishonesty, the girl changed what seemed an
impossible situation into an extremely
advantageous one.

MORAL OF THE STORY:
Most complex problems do have a solution. It is
only that we don't attempt to think

100 Days......

Peter and Tina are sitting in the park doing
nothing, but just gazing into the sky, while all
their friends are having fun with their beloved
half.

Tina: I'm so bored. Just wish I have a boyfriend
now to spend time with.

Peter: I guess we're the only leftovers. We're
the only person who isn't with a date now. (both
sigh n silence for a while)

Tina: I think I have a good idea. Lets play a
game
Peter: Eh? What game?

Tina: Eem..It's quite simple. You be my
boyfriend for 100 days and I'll be your
girlfriend for 100 days. what do you think?

Peter: Oookay..Anyway I don't have any plan for
the next few months.

Tina: You sound like you aren't looking forward
to it at all. Cheer up. Today will be our first
day and our first date. Where should we go?

Peter: What about a movie? I heard that there is
a really great movie in theater now.

Tina: Seems like I don't have any better idea
than this. Lets move. (went to watch their
movies and sent each other home)

Day 2:
Peter and Tina went to a concert together, and
Peter bought Tina a keychain with a star.

Day 3:
They went shopping together for a friend's
birthday present. Share an ice-cream together
and hugged each other for the first time.

Day 7:
Peter drove Tina up onto a mountain and they
watch the sunset together. When the night came
and the moon glowed, they said sat on the grass
gazing at the stars together. A meteor passed
by. Tina mumbled something.

Day 25:
Spend time at a themepark and got onto
rollercoasters, and ate hotdogs and cotton
candy. Peter and Tina got in the haunted house
and Tina grabbed someone's hand instead of
Peter's hand by accident. They laughed together
for a while.

Day 67:
They drove pass a circus and decided to get in
to watch the show. The midget asked Tina to play
a part as his assistant in the magic show. Went
around to see other entertainments around after
the show. Came to a fortune teller and she just
said "Treasure every moment from now on" and a
tear rolled down the fortune teller's cheek.

Day 84:
Tina suggested that they go to the beach. The
beach wasn't so crowded that day. They have
their first kiss with each other just as the sun
is setting.

Day 99:
They decided to have a simple day and is
deciding to have a walk around the city. They
sits down onto a bench.

1:23 pm
Tina: I'm thirsty. Lets rest for a while first.

Peter: Wait here while I go buy some drinks.
What would you like?

Tina: Eem...Apple juice will be just fine.

1:43 pm
Tina waiting for about 20 minutes and Peter
havent return. Then someone walked up to her.

Stranger: Is your name Tina?

Tina: Yes, and may I help you?

Stranger: Justnow down there on the street a
drunk driver has crashed into a guy. I think its
your friend.

Tina ran over to the spot with the stranger and
sees Peter lying on the floor with blood over
his face and her apple juice still in his hands.
The ambulance came and she went to the hospital
with Peter.
Tina sat outside the emergency room for five and
a half hours. The doctor came out, and he sigh.

11:51 pm
Doctor: I'm sorry, but we did the best we could.
He is still breathing now but God would take him
away from us very soon. We found this letter
inside his pocket.

The doctor hands over the letter to Tina and she
goes into the room to see Peter. He look weak
but peaceful. Tina read the letter and then she
burst into tears. Here is what the letter said.

Tina, our 100 days is almost over. I had fun
with you during all these days. Although you may
be greedy sometimes and less thoughtful, but
these all brought happiness into my life. I have
realize that you are a really cute girl and
blamed myself for never taken the time to
knowing that. I have nothing much to ask for,
but I just wish that we can extend the day. I
want to be your boyfriend
forever and wish that you can be beside me all
the time. Tina, I love you.

11:58pm
Tina: (sobbing) Peter. Did you know what was the
wish I made on the night there was a meteor. I
asked God to let us last forever. We were
suppose to last 100 days so Peter! You can't
leave me! I LOVE YOU, but can you come back to
me now? I love you Peter. I LOVE YOU.

As the clock struck twelve, Peter's heart
stopped beating. It was 100 days.

NOTE*

Wing Commander's Speech...

Hi guys, finally booked out. Today had been quite a enriching day for me. Mainly because of Wing Com's speech just now. Firstly, what are the 3 ways to make our mind stop working? Lack of sleep, Shock and Stress. I learnt from wing com that drills can take over a person's mind when the mind stop thinking which is true. Have you people ever tried singing ocs song or saying officer's creed while thinking of other things? Well i had, this is mainly because i have been saying the creed so many times that it become a nature to me so like wise for drills. When we practice a certain drill so many times, we actually make it our nature. Next is regarding the types of leaders, 3 types of them. First type of leader is leadership through popularity, this is oftened seen in junior college or secondary school whereby the councilors are actually being selected because they are popular. Next is leaders who are efficient, they are the people who are not so popular but very capable. Lastly is the combination of the first and second type of leaders. These leaders are rare. Well like Faz always says... Lead by your heart, i believe when a leader leads his men by his heart, he puts them above him and treat them like his sons. In this way, when the leader enters the valley the death, the men will follow him. Yes, the key to being the 3rd type of leader is to lead by your heart so that when the end of the day you know that you have not let yourself down and more important you have not let your men down. Lastly i congratulate Justin and Faz for their taking over as school appointment holders. DO A GOOD JOB ok? lolx....

Unopened CDs

There was once a guy who was born with a cancer... a cancer that can't be treated. He was now 17 years old and he could die any day now. All his life, he was stuck in his house being taken cared by his mother. He never went outside but he was sick of staying home and wanted to go out for once.

So he asked his mother and she gave him permission. He walked down his block and found a lot of stores. He passed a CD store and looked through the front door for a second as he walked. He stopped and went back to look into the store. He saw a MAD fly young girl about his age and he knew it was love at first sight. He opened the door and walked in, not looking at anything else but her. Her walked closer and closer until he was finally at the front desk where she sat. She looked up and asked "Can I help you?" She smiled and he thought it was the most beautiful smile he has ever seen before and wanted to kiss her right there.

He said "Uh... Yeah... Umm... I would like to buy a CD." He picked one out and gave her money for it. "Would you like me to wrap it for you?" she asked, smiling her cute smile again. He nodded and she went to the back.

She came back with the wrapped CD and gave it to him. He took it and walked out of the store. He went home and from then on, he went to that store everyday and bought a CD, and she wrapped it for him. He took the CD home and put it in his closet. He was still too shy to ask her out and he really wanted to but he couldn't. His mother found out about this
and told him to just ask her.

So the next day, he took all his courage and went to the store. He bought a CD like he did everyday and once again she went to the back of the store and came back with it wrapped. He took it and when she wasn't looking, he left his phone number on the desk and ran out... !!!BRRRRRING!!!

The mother picked up the phone and said, "Hello?"

It was the girl!!! She asked for the boy and the mother started to cry and said, "You don't know? He passed away yesterday..."

The line was quiet except for the cry of the boy's mother.

Later in the day. the mother went into the boy's room because she wanted to remember him. She thought she would start by looking at his clothes. So she opened the closet. She was face to face with piles and piles and piles of unopened CDs. She was surprised to find all those CDs and she picked one up and sat down on the bed and she started to open one. Inside, there was a CD and as she took it out of the wrapper, out fell a piece of paper.

The mother picked it up and started to read it. It said:

Hi... I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me?

The mother opened another CD. Again there was a piece of paper. It said:

Today is 13th september 2004, Monday. You people must be thinking... wtf is boon hong writing his blog when he is supposed to be out there in the field feeding mosquitoes? Well, today i'm doing a demostration on Operation Flashpoint to Chief of Defend Force (CDF). Operation Flashpoint is a game similar to Counter-strike but much more realistic in terms of weapons and amry vehicles. Now i'm waiting for CDF to arrive, kinda of boring though. My friends are all playing the game but i rather do my blog. My other wing mates went to katib camp to learn about artillery fire and later to visit 1st guard's camp I going of to taiwan very soon. A little nervous and a little exicted. I'll miss a few people like my parents, my sister, Benedict, Wei de... and also Nicolyn. These 3 weeks will be tough but also fun unlike Brunei which only TOUGH but no fun. OK folks i'll write more next time, i going to read up on crystal growing now.

Well, booking in is always a very gloomy process every NSF got to go through. This week is the week right after Ex. Dump in, so we can expect less 'siong' training. Indeed this week training started off quite slack, we went for the ARMY OPEN HOUSE 2004. i meet benedict, wei de and many other Serivce term 2 friends. i was so happy to be able to see them again. It is good to know that they are happy about their training. Although it is only a less then 2 hours meeting, we manage to do some catching up. Then rest of the week we spent doing armstroke and ROC preperation... Sian. I still haven't touch my Operational Orders. i decide to do it at home.... haha i'm a slacker rite? i called my juniors during my free time to do some catching up. i called felicia aka xiao cute cute, she was buzy with her boyfriend, very disappointing. I tried calling Yin Jin too, couldn't get her. i am glad that i was able to contact Yin Day ( another of my sweet junior ), she told me what's happening in BPGHS. To my Horror, many teachers are leaving the school. This is mainly due to the new principle. i hate it man. i trying to find time to go back to school but due to my training i wasn't ablt to achieve that. i must visit BPGHS before all my teachers leave. Those 402 ppl who manage to read my blog, pls go back to visit the teachers. Salim had left the school, he is now at west spring. Called him a little, nothing much. The training was 'siong' from wednesday till now, SEOC and OCCT are killers. My neck are aching like.... can't find a good phase... haha. i got bruises all over me too... sian... Lastly was today's happy hour, the guiness girls are too hot to be true... haha

An Enlightening Story

Note: This is not a survey or game trying to find out what ur decision. I just want to share this story with all of u.A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, one still in use while the other disused. Only one child played on the disused track, the rest on the operational track. The train came, and you were just beside the track interchange. You could make the train change its course to the disused track and saved most of the kids. However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the disused track would be sacrificed. Or would you rather let the train go its way? Let's take a pause to think what kind of decision we could make............. How do you decide? No cheating... What is your decision? Most people might choose to divert the course of the train, and sacrifice only one child. You might think the same way, I guess. Exactly, I thought the same way initially because to save most of the children at the expense of only one child was rational decision most people would make, morally and emotionally. But, have you ever thought that the child choosing to play on the disused track had in fact made the right decision to play at a safe place? Nevertheless, he had to be sacrificed because of his ignorant friends who chose to play where the danger was. This kind of dilemma happens around us everyday. In the office, community, in politics and especially in a democratic society, the minority is often sacrificed for the interest of the majority, no matter how foolish or ignorant the majority is, and how farsighted and knowledgeable the minority is. The child who chose not to play with the rest on the operational track was sidelined. And in the case he was sacrificed, no one would shed a tear for him. The friend who forwarded me the story said he would not try to change the course of the train because he believed that the kids playing on the operational track should have known very well that track was still in use and that they should have run away if they heard the train's sirens. If the train was diverted, that lone child would definitely die because he never thought the train could come over to that track! Moreover, that track was not in use probably because it was not safe. If the train was diverted to the track, we could put the lives of all passengers on board at stake! And in your attempt to save a few kids by sacrificing one child, you might end up sacrificing hundreds of people to save these few kids. While we are all aware that life is full of tough decisions that need to be made, we may not realize that hasty decisions may not always be the right one. "Remember that what's right isn't always popular... and what's popular isn't always right."
